FEMA Review Council Final Report

The FEMA Review Council met yesterday, May 7th, to present and vote to approve the recommendations of their final report. The 75-page approved report, along with the PowerPoint deck presented during the meeting and the meeting agenda, has been posted to the Department of Homeland Security's website. The recording of yesterday's meeting has not yet been posted.

The report contains 10 key recommendations for the future of FEMA that seek to address the need for improved federal, state, local and tribal cooperation, federal mitigation programs and disaster assistance, and the financial stability and resiliency of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

The NFA is reviewing the final report in detail and will be considering meaningful actions to address recommendations that stand to impact members and the flood risk management community, as a whole. We will share key insights, concerns and suggested actions as we delve further into the details.

In the meantime, if you have specific questions or concerns about the final report, please feel free to reach out to us at info@nfaflood.com.
