Committees & Workgroups
NFA’s committees and workgroups oversee a variety of initiatives across the organization and strive to provide adequate representation of the association’s broad stakeholder community. For questions about current initiatives and/or to inquire about participating in committee or workgroup efforts, please reach out to the individual(s) listed for the subject group.
Claims Committee
Claim and engineering professionals convene to collaborate with FEMA and advocate for best practices for flood claim management.
Data & Mapping Committee
The Data & Mapping Committee is responsible for the identification, prioritization, tracking and resolution of flood mapping and data integrity issues.
Elections Committee
The purpose of this committee is to administer the NFA’s annual Board of Directors elections process, including managing nominations and facilitating member voting.
Finance Committee
The charter for this committee is to conduct an annual audit of association finances, support the budgeting process and recommend improvements for financial management.
Insurance Committee
The Insurance Committee serves within the NFA as a hub of expertise, advocacy, education and communication for matters of flood insurance. Its purpose is to provide valuable insights on topics specifically related to insurance that may impact the flood industry as a whole, as well as policyholders and at-risk properties.
Legislative Committee
A diverse group of member stakeholders monitor flood-related legislative activity, develop NFA policy positions, and create and manage the NFA communications strategy pertaining to legislative matters to the membership, other stakeholder groups, and the Hill.​​
Membership Committee
The charter for this committee is to support membership retention, new member onboarding and growth.
